ABOUT THE PARTNER ORGANIZATION

Red Binacional de Mujeres Artesanas Niu Matat Napawika

Red Binacional de Mujeres Artesanas Niu Matat Napawika, whose name means United Women Working, arose in 2006 at the initiative of La Mujer Obrera, in El Paso, Texas in the United States, as a binational initiative of economic justice for Mexican women in both countries. The mission, vision and objectives of the Binational Network were built through a participatory consultation process that lasted two years with the participation of 50 women artisan leaders representing artisan women's organizations and 5 Civil Society Organizations.

In 2010, it was established in Mexico, establishing itself in the city of Puebla, with two legal figures, a Civil Association focused on developing and strengthening the business and leadership capacities of indigenous artisan women and a cooperative society whose function is the production, collection and commercialization of the products of social enterprises, under fair trade principles.
