Decorative rug woven on a backstrap loom by the "Color de Rosa" group in the town of Belisario Dominguez in the municipality of Chenalhó, Chiapas. The design of this rug arises from a creative exercise with the artisans inspired by the figures of the architecture of San Cristóbal de las Casas.
This rug combines two artisan techniques: weaving on a waist loom with natural lamb's wool, spun by hand, which is the base of the rug, on which, later, they add one to some pom-poms of 5 different colors, until they form complete figures and lines. along the mat.
Each rug has about 650 pom-poms that are made by hand-winding acrylic yarn or yarn, once tied, it is cut and the pom-pom is shaped into a round shape.
