I also take care of the chicken is a large-format piece made on a backstrap loom with a brocaded figure. It is part of the 8 pieces that resulted from the creative exercise, in which women and men from the “San Andrés” artisan group in Chiapas worked collaboratively, based on the representation of their daily life, customs and concerns through different drawings. . With the intention of promoting participatory design in craft production, each member created a loom, representing one of their drawings and applying their experience in the technique as a means of expression and creative production. The objective was to give authorship to each participant of the pieces they made.

Fundación León XII IAP (FLXIII) is a Private Assistance Institution established in 1996 as a response to the conditions of marginalization and exclusion of communities in Chiapas, Oaxaca and Guerrero.

We are present in more than 300 rural, indigenous and Afro-mestizo communities of less than 3,000 inhabitants, without social security, with an educational gap and with limited access to food, basic housing services and health services.
