El Carrizal, San Luis Potosí

The Bom Lamp is hand-woven with palm fiber by Tenek artisans from the community of El Carrizal in San Luis Potosí.

The lamp has the shape of two spheres inspired by gourds, a fruit that is usually dehydrated and used as a container, canteen or simply decorative. It has a solid tzalam wood base turned by artisans from San Luis Potosí and a Tzalam sheet metal canopy.

Gourds are considered a gift from nature in part for their utilitarian use, as it is ideal for keeping water fresh and can be transported to crop fields; On the other hand, gourds have a traditional religious use, since it is believed that when dying, the soul of the person will be thirsty, which is why they usually put small gourds with water in their coffins for the journey to the other world.

Tzalam wood, cream in color and with few grains, is considered an exotic wood that is highly resistant to fungi and insects.

The Bom lamp is ideal to complement the decoration of any home, office, hotels and boutiques.
