Monument Vase

The monument vase is a decorative piece that pays tribute to the work of the Zapotec community in the Atzompa monumental complex, home of the Zárate Blanco family. This vase is made with white clay, the result of the creativity of the Zárate family, who constantly seek to innovate to generate new job opportunities. To obtain its characteristic shade, the pieces are covered with a special clay before firing, resulting in an off-white color. Its manufacture can take more than a month, from collecting the raw materials to manual modeling on the wheel and decoration with openwork figures that reflect cultural aspects of the region.
