The Cempasúchil huipil is a work of art that embodies the rich textile tradition of Oaxaca. Handwoven on a pedal loom and dyed with the natural pigment of the yellow marigold flower, this huipil dazzles with its vibrant color and intricate gradient.
The dyeing technique is complex and carries with it the art of gradient on the fabric, giving it a unique and changing beauty over time. As it is dyed with a natural pigment, special care is recommended: hand wash with soap and water, and dry without exposing to the sun to preserve its color and texture.
