The Guaje Calabaza, product of the ancestral technique of the Maque Incrustado, reflects the rich cultural tradition of Uruapan, Michoacán. In collaboration with Taller Saint Phalle, each piece is unique and carries with it centuries of history and craftsmanship. This technique involves applying earth-based paints and natural pigments to wood, creating intricate details, the meticulous process encompassing anchoring, drawing, cutting and inlaying. These pieces are free of heavy metals, non-toxic and non-polluting.
