San Mateo Bag

San Mateo del Mar, Oaxaca

Large bag woven by master artisans from San Mateo del Mar, a community located on the isthmus of Tehuantepec, Oaxaca. These bags are a reinterpretation of the traditional huipil that is made in this area, which has a very complex and particular fabric. In these pieces the weavers form figures that reflect landscapes and customs that they live every day.
It is suggested to wash by hand without sizing with the piece inside out.
